6th Annual Dyke Day LA picnic
Barnsdall Art Park
Join WORD LA for a day in the park with "all self-identified dykes and their allies, including queer families, trans folks, and queers of all ages" at Dyke Day LA, an inclusive community celebration at Barnsdall Art Park. We will be there to meet and connect with new people and spread the word about our ongoing work.
Sunday, June 9 at 11 am
2013 LA Pride Parade
Meet at Santa Monica & Crescent Heights
Join WORD and community members as we march for full equality at LA Pride on Sunday, June 9. Pride has its origins in the militant and fighting LGBT movement of the 1960s and 1970s, as thousands of LGBT people poured into the streets demanding their rights. We will continue that struggle as WORD joins the Los Angeles Pride parade for the first time.
Sexism, bigotry and patriarchy are used to oppress women, trans women, lesbians, and any person who fights the "status quo" of oppression and division. We stand against bigotry and sexism and demand full equality for all people.
March with the WORD contingent and demand "Equality for women, equality for ALL!"
Now is the time for us to continue the struggle for full equality for all, by taking to the streets together in a united movement.
